Children's Choice After Care Inc in Batavia, IL is looking for a passionate and energetic After School Care Assistant to join our team! Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities during after school hours
- Assist with homework help and academic support for enrolled students
- Plan and facilitate recreational, creative, and educational activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom or activity space
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and program staff
- Monitor student behavior and implement positive behavior management strategies
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the program
Requirements:
- Experience working with school-age children in a childcare, education, or recreational setting
- Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with kids
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass a background check as required by Illinois childcare regulations
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work afternoon/early evening hours consistently
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education or child development a plus
