Assistant Store Director – People & Culture
We’re looking for an Assistant Store Director (ASD) of People & Culture who brings energy, creativity, and a passion for people. In this role, you will be responsible for building and leading the people strategy for our global flagship location in New York City.
This role goes beyond traditional store leadership. You will own the full team experience - from how we attract and hire talent, to how we develop, engage, and retain it, while ensuring every customer interaction reflects the energy and standards of the brand.
You’ll operate as a key partner to the Store Director, leading a critical part of a large, multi-layered team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Your impact is felt both internally (team culture and performance), and externally (customer experience and community connection).
What You’ll Do
As the ASD of People & Culture, you are the champion of the customer journey and team engagement. You’ll partner with the Store Director to elevate service standards and build a people-first culture.
Own the Customer Experience
- Drive a best-in-class, elevated, and consistent customer experience
- Lead from the floor - coaching the team in real time to drive engagement, conversion, and customer connection
- Set and uphold service expectations, ensuring it is consistent, elevated, and on-brand
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
Drive Results Through People
- Leverage customer engagement to influence sales performance
- Connect people strategy to business outcomes - understanding how service, engagement, and staffing impact performance
- Identify opportunities and implement strategies to improve store key performance indicators
- Partner cross-functionally with other ASDs to align team, experience, and operational needs
- Lead by example on the sales floor as a visible, hands-on leader-on-duty
Lead People Development & Performance
- Directly manage and develop the People & Culture Lead(s) and other team members within your area of ownership
- Build a strong customer service culture through coaching, recognition, and accountability
- Coach leaders to effectively develop their teams, creating consistency in how feedback and growth are delivered
- Partner with the Store Director on succession planning and leadership bench strength
Build a High-Performance, People-First Culture
- Shape a culture that reflects Edikted’s energy, inclusivity, and connection to fashion and community
- Drive team engagement through recognition, communication, and clear expectations
- Lead recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for the store, ensuring a strong and consistent talent pipeline
- Lead structured, organized, and engaging onboarding for all new employees
Who You Are
- An experienced retail leader with 2 years of experience in a Store Manager role, or 5 years of experience in a high-volume, high-complexity Assistant Store Manager role
- Strong background in people management, customer experience, and team development
- Passionate about customer experience, people development, and brand storytelling
- A strong hand-on coach who is highly present on the floor
- Energetic, engaging, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and ready to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Tech-savvy and confident using retail systems and tools
