Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Lafayette, IN, for a Substance Abuse Counselor. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work directly with clients to assess needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide counseling for chemical dependency and mental health issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting relapse prevention, engaging in case management, and facilitating group or individual therapy sessions. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive treatment is a key aspect of this role.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Treatment Planning and Case Management
- Expertise in Chemical Dependency and Relapse Prevention strategies
- Knowledge of Mental Health and related therapeutic interventions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement and teamwork
- Licensure or certification in counseling, social work, or a related field (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, CADC)
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline is preferred
- Experience with diverse client populations and a commitment to client-centered care
