They're looking for a sharp project manager to drive new hardware from concept to mass production — sitting at the center of engineering, design, and operations to keep complex builds on track.
Role Overview
We're seeking a highly organized and driven Technical Project Manager to lead new product development from concept through mass production. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, design, and operations, ensuring complex hardware programs stay on track and deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage product development schedules from concept through mass production, including milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, and operations teams
- Lead project rituals including design reviews, sprint planning, stand-ups, and milestone reviews
- Prepare clear documentation and present tradeoff analyses for key decisions
- Manage project budgets and proactively communicate forecasted expenses to finance
- Oversee vendor and test lab relationships; coordinate prototype builds and pilot runs
- Identify and mitigate risks related to scope, resources, and timelines
- Continuously improve project management processes and workflows
- Support additional projects and strategic initiatives as needed
- Approximately 25% travel to manufacturing sites, partner locations, and events
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience managing hardware or consumer electronics product development programs
- Proven track record leading cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering workflows
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., ClickUp or similar platforms)
- Advanced skills in Google Workspace / Microsoft Office (especially Sheets/Excel) and Slack
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments and adapt to shifting priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- PMP, CSM, or similar certification
- Experience in consumer appliances or hardware startups
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, FCC, FDA)
- Hands-on experience in product design or new product development engineering
