Project Manager – AI / Digital Transformation (INDIGO Program)
Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite/week) – Waltham, MA
aPay Rate: $50–54/hr
Overview
A leading life sciences organization is seeking a Project Manager to support the advancement of an enterprise-wide AI initiative (INDIGO program). This role will focus on driving the organization’s AI and machine learning strategy by leading cross-functional projects within the Foundational AI workstream.
The Project Manager will partner closely with program leadership to support agile transformation, ensure alignment with strategic objectives, and drive successful execution of AI-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Define project objectives, scope, and success criteria aligned with strategic goals
- Develop and maintain hybrid project plans combining Agile (sprints, backlogs) and traditional methodologies (timelines, milestones, budgets)
- Ensure projects are delivered on scope, on time, and within budget
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional teams across business and technical functions
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Assign responsibilities and track progress toward deliverables
Resource & Capacity Management
- Coordinate team capacity, skillsets, and resource allocation across workstreams
- Ensure effective utilization of resources to support project success
Risk & Issue Management
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Resolve issues quickly while maintaining strong stakeholder alignment
Governance & Communication
- Maintain project documentation, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Support portfolio governance through structured frameworks and consistent reporting
- Ensure transparency and communication across all stakeholders
Training & Adoption
- Organize and facilitate training for users of implemented AI solutions
- Support adoption of AI tools and workflows across the organization
Continuous Improvement
- Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes and identify improvements
- Promote a culture of learning, feedback, and innovation within teams

- Proven experience managing AI and technology-driven projects
- Strong expertise in Agile / Scrum methodologies and hybrid project delivery models
- Ability to lead complex projects end-to-end (planning, execution, budgeting, risk management)
