Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will oversee the telecommunications team’s project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role will be assigned to all projects in a region and is responsible for maintaining project schedules, tracking costs, managing materials, contracting and permit tracking, and managing IT change tickets. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will maintain project data and communicate risks to the Program Manager and other applicable stakeholders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages low-level project schedules and tracks deliverables for the Telecom project team.
- Tracks and provides updates on financials for their perspective projects.
- Attend project meetings to provide updates as required.
- Assists with task execution and scope assessment of new projects.
- Provides change management assistance by entering and processing project changes in SNOW.
- Assists in administrative work related to project delivery, such as permitting, contract tracking, and documentation gathering.
- Assists engineers in the material ordering process of the projects.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Basic or Minimum Requirements
- Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
o 1 years of experience in project coordination or project management support.
- Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Project Management Knowledge:
o Understanding of project lifecycle, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management principles.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Communication & Collaboration:
o Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder updates.
o Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and regional coordinators.
- Organizational Skills:
o Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
o Skilled in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Location:
o Candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to work location. Candidates outside a reasonable commuting distance must provide a cover letter regarding intentions to relocate to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with telecommunications projects or IT infrastructure preferred.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Knowledge of Power BI for resource tracking and reporting is a plus.
- Prior cost control experience preferred.
- PMP, CAPM, or other project management certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in program or portfolio management within telecommunications or a related field a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work is conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) on an active construction site.
- Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or construction atmosphere
- Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel
- Working plant, construction, and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
- May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
