Position Overview
The Copy Editor will play a critical role in maintaining the quality, consistency, accuracy, and voice of creative campaign materials across multiple clients and platforms. This role requires exceptional grammar and proofreading skills, strong knowledge of AP style and entertainment marketing conventions, and the ability to collaborate closely with writers, creative directors, strategists, producers, and account teams under tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate is equal parts meticulous and adaptable — someone who can catch the smallest detail while navigating high-volume creative workflows and ever-changing campaign priorities.
- Proofread and edit copy across digital, social, print, AV, presentations, and promotional materials
- Ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, tone, and brand consistency
- Maintain adherence to AP style, client style guides, and legal/disclaimer standards
- Review campaign assets for continuity, formatting consistency, and factual accuracy
- Collaborate with copywriters, designers, producers, and account teams throughout the creative process
- Fact-check titles, talent names, release dates, platform references, and entertainment-specific terminology
- Ensure final creative assets are client-ready and error-free before delivery
- Help refine internal editorial processes and quality-control workflows
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
- 3 years of copy editing or proofreading experience, preferably within an advertising agency, entertainment studio, or media company
- Exceptional command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editorial standards
- Strong understanding of AP style; familiarity with entertainment marketing language preferred
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience editing social media, campaign copy, presentations, trailers, key art copy, and digital content
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and collaborative review tools
- Ability to prioritize shifting workloads and maintain attention to detail under pressure
- Experience in entertainment, streaming, gaming, or pop culture marketing
- Familiarity with legal copy review and network/studio approval processes
- Experience working with creative and production teams
- Understanding of multi-platform campaign execution
