We are seeking a generalist to join our physician-owned group practice in Greenville NC. We are a thriving and expanding private practice at a Level 1 trauma center in NC with nearly 1,000 beds (21st largest in US). Starting pay is highly competitive, and multiple clinical pathways are available including a 3-year path to partnership to the interested individual who excels in teamwork, leadership, and has a strong work ethic. Clinical excellence is essential in our fast-paced and medically-directed environment that includes all types of cases for generalists except cardiac pump and high-acuity pediatric cases. Residents are welcome to apply as well, and we offer mentorships and support for physicians coming out of residency. This is an excellent location to solidify anesthesia skills as all cases are performed including trauma. We offer a signing bonus and partnership track with no buy in required. Call is shared equally among the physician team.

- Prepares and administers general and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery and other procedures.
- Provides anesthesia maintenance and adjustment before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintains patient records.
- Orders diagnostic tests as needed.
- Works closely with surgical specialists.
- Performs venous and arterial punctures.
- Performs pre-anesthesia patient evaluation.
- Provides post-anesthesia care and evaluation.
- Provides and monitors mechanical ventilation.
- Communicate with patients, and their families and caregivers.
- Reacts appropriately to adverse reactions and complications.
- Evaluates patient histories, lab results, and surgical plans to determine an appropriate anesthesia and pain management plan.
- Monitors patient fluid, blood, and electrolyte balance, and other vital signs and critical functions during the course of procedures.
- Performs tracheal intubation, airway management, and extubation.
- Monitors patients following procedures to determine when they can be safely moved from one stage of recovery to the next.
- Takes detailed medical history to determine possible allergic or negative reactions to medication.
- Supervises registered nurse anesthetists and other technical staff.
- Mentors and supervises anesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility (BC/BE) in anesthesiology.
- Strong regional skills, fellowship not required.
- NC state medical license.
- Experience not required, residents are welcome to apply.
