Senior Accountant
**On-site, full-time in St. Louis, MO**
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant is a key contributor within a fast-growing, multi-entity organization operating in a highly regulated industry. This role supports the Controller and finance leadership through disciplined close execution, complex reconciliations, audit support, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a high-accountability environment with evolving processes. This position requires the ability and willingness to meet the demands of a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Own assigned balance sheet accounts, including complex reconciliations and variance analysis
- Manage intercompany transactions and multi-entity accounting activities
- Reconcile debt, interest, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, and equity accounts
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items and unusual activity
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate data flows into the general ledger
- Support accounting system enhancements and process improvement initiatives
- Contribute to documentation, controls, and scalable accounting procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Must have CPA certification
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience in multi-entity and intercompany environments
- Experience preparing and supporting audits
- Background in financial services, banking, or similarly regulated industries (IRS, SEC, etc.) required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, data analysis)
- NetSuite experience preferred or similar ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong integrity, attention to detail, and communication skills
