Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities that promote literacy, math, and overall childhood development.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment and addressing behavioral challenges effectively.
- Engage with students in various activities, ensuring that each child receives individualized attention based on their unique needs.
- Help in curriculum development by contributing ideas for lesson planning and classroom projects.
- Foster communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Provide care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning, including preparing materials for lessons.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- DEEC Certification is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work both individually and in a team.
- Experience working in a preschool or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices, including classroom management skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for educating young children and fostering their love for learning through creative play and structured activities.
