Full-time preschool assistant teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. This position is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about early childhood education and have a strong desire to contribute to the development of children’s academic and social skills.

Duties

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities that promote literacy, math, and overall childhood development.
• Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment and addressing behavioral challenges effectively.
• Engage with students in various activities, ensuring that each child receives individualized attention based on their unique needs.
• Help in curriculum development by contributing ideas for lesson planning and classroom projects.
• Foster communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Provide care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.
• Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning, including preparing materials for lessons.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
• DEEC Certification is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work both individually and in a team.
• Experience working in a preschool or childcare setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of early childhood education best practices, including classroom management skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
• A passion for educating young children and fostering their love for learning through creative play and structured activities.
