Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and supporting diverse learning needs within the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher in preparing, organizing and maintaining a clean, safe, and developmentally appropriate Montessori classroom environment.
- Prepare and maintain Montessori materials and classroom supplies as directed by the lead teacher.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times.
- Observe children attentively, and share observation notes and concerns regarding children’s behavior or progress with the Lead Teachers,
- Offer assistance to children only when needed, encouraging independence, problem-solving and self-direction.
- Assist with classroom management by modeling grace and courtesy, and respectful behavior. Respect and protect children’s work and space, and use positive discipline strategies to guide and support children.
- Help with daily classroom routines, including arrival, dismissal, attendance, snack/lunch, toileting, and transitions between activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- DEEC Certification is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work both individually and in a team.
- Experience working in a private school setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices, including classroom management skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for educating young children and fostering their love for learning through creative play and structured activities.
