Cashier

Ebels General Store in Reed City is looking for a Part-Time Cashier. Grocery cashiers are a key part of providing a satisfying experience for our retail customers. Each cashier interacts with customers as they complete their shopping and finalize their impressions about their visit to our store. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services. Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as is the ability to memorize product identification codes and weekly ad specials. Cashiers often bag customer orders and help shoppers find items in the store. They assist in cleaning the check-out area, returning products back to proper locations, and in stocking shelves upon receipt of product.

Compensation for this position ranges from $14.00 to $16.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet customers entering our store and assist them by providing information.
• Receive & process payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Conduct proper money management, including counting change back to customers.
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
• Perform general cleaning duties in the store, such as mopping floors, emptying trash cans, and vacuuming rugs.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to bend and stand as necessary.
Must be able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs.
