What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Equity Manager position at EastRise Credit Union?
Oversees the Home Equity lending operation to include Home Equity Lines of Credit, Home Equity Term loans, and short-term first lien mortgages. This position creates and achieves lending production volume and balance goals along with organizing, planning and directing the company’s Home Equity loan functions to maximize products and growth. This position assists with establishing and implementing departmental lending policies and operations procedures consistent with overall company management policies. This position is salary plus potential for commission based on production/growth opportunities.

Manages and directs the home equity lending department including activities related to the development, processing, and maintenance of Home Equity Lines of Credit, Home Equity Term, and short-term first mortgages. Ensures competent, motivated team members through hiring, training, counseling, supervising, and reviewing performance of team members.

Responsible for managing and meeting production goals as a department and that team members are submitting quality files and documentation adhering to guidelines, policy and federal regulations while maintaining member satisfaction goals.

Developing and implementing strategies to improve loan department efficiency and meet production loan goals.

Assists in the development and maintenance of loan product offerings and lending programs which are competitive and maximize profitability and attainment of production volume and balance goals.

Works in conjunction with the Home Equity Operations Manager to ensure a quality loan underwriting process that meets the financial needs of the members while maintaining compliance with internal guidelines, policies and federal regulations. Oversee the approval and declines of applications that are over the underwriter’s approval limit.

Reviews and monitors loan production, survey and MRD goals for Home Equity Team.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Knowledge And Skills Experience
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first to middle level managers.

Must be at least 18 years of age. Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required. (Motor Vehicle check depending on position.) Travel to other branches or locations may be required depending on position. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations affecting consumer loans. Knowledge of consumer loan policies, procedures, products, and services.

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, dopier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, dependable, and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
Mental And/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on their own or as part of a team.
