The Payment Portfolio Manager is responsible for the strategy, growth, and optimization of the credit union's payment portfolios including both credit and debit cards. This role is crucial in driving the strategic direction and financial success of the payment businesses, while ensuring our payment programs remain competitive and profitable, while meeting member expectations and regulatory requirements.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required to meet business needs.
Location: This position can be performed fully remotely with occasional travel to South Burlington, VT.
Description
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Strong understanding of card products and payment systems, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating, and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Description
- Deliver development and enhancement of payment products, features, and benefits to our markets and members, while ensuring maximum cardholder acquisition, retention, activation, and usage rates by monitoring portfolio performance metrics.
- Conduct analysis on the annual budget and forecast (including revenue, fee income, and expense management), market trends, member behaviors, and competitive landscape to support decision making, as well as prepare/present to management (highlighting portfolio performance, key initiatives and recommendations).
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments, external partners, and vendors (Risk & Compliance, Card Operations, Marketing, and Retail). Demonstrated influence skills and partnering, strong analytical skills with prior experience in data retrieval, analysis, and problem solving.
- Partner with leadership and internal team members on credit union initiatives, projects, and tasks as assigned to achieve our collective goals and duties.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
