Middle School Teacher / Boys Coach
Location: Eastland Middle School
Reports To: Principal / Athletic Director
Salary: Based on EISD Compensation Plan Coaching Stipends
Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Additionally, provide instruction and coach student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for middle school athletic programs.
Major Responsibilities & Duties
Instructional:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Coaching:
- Instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for middle and high school sports (including football, basketball, volleyball, track, and cross country)..
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Certification: Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for Middle School (4-8) in assigned subject area.
- Special Knowledge: Knowledge of UIL rules and regulations; ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Experience: Previous teaching and coaching experience preferred, but not required.
