Essential Responsibilities
- Students will observe daily programming by adult day staff, within the hours of 9 am – 3pm.
- Student will observe/participate in at least one development/update and implementation of participant’s person-centered care plan.
- Students will assist with procedures and daily activities as directed by the Adult Day Program Director or assigned Adult Day Program designee.
- Students will assist with documentation as directed.
- Students will attend staff meetings, case conferences, education sessions, and family meetings, as scheduled or indicated by supervisor.
- Students will integrate procedures and techniques learned in their college programs while working under the direct supervision of an Adult Day Program Supervisor or designee.
- Students will maintain appropriate appearance, attitude and conduct.
- Students will maintain participant confidentiality and treat all participants with respect and dignity at all times.
- Students will meet weekly with the Program Director or designee to review progress and goals for Internship.
- Enrolled in a College program with a goal of receiving an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in a human services related field and have approval from his or her program director
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Background check required
- Internship hours and schedule to be determined based on program needs and academic requirements
- Students must have approval from HR prior to starting internship hours
- Must be able to attend 8-hour agency Dementia training
