Receptionist

Job Summary:

The Nursing Home Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff. This role requires a warm, professional, and organized individual who can manage a variety of administrative tasks while maintaining a friendly and supportive environment. This is a part time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist visitors, residents, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
• Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls; take messages and direct to appropriate personnel
• Maintain visitor sign-in logs and enforce visitor policies
• Respond to inquiries and provide information about facility services and procedures
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
• Assist with administrative duties such as filing, copying, data entry, and scheduling appointments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk/reception area
• Support resident communication needs (e.g., scheduling transportation, family calls)
• Follow HIPAA regulations and facility confidentiality policies
• Respond to emergency situations per facility protocols

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior receptionist or customer service experience preferred, especially in a healthcare setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
• Familiarity with elder care or long-term care settings is a plus

Working Conditions:

• Requires evening and/or weekend shifts
• Desk-based work with some light lifting (mail, office supplies)
• Exposure to a healthcare environment with elderly or vulnerable residents
