Position Summary
Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for Part-Time, Child Care Resource Specialist, for Child Care Resource and Referral. This position will be responsible for providing technical support in a childcare resource service. Such services assist individuals in the community in locating, selecting, and evaluating childcare services and work with community childcare providers to provide consultation and training programs.

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER

Approximately 18 hours per week.
Salary/Pay Rate Range
$18.24/hr. Department set rate.

Position Summary

- Assists parents/guardians in locating, selecting, and evaluating childcare programs and services; assesses needs and provides parents/guardians with information concerning licensing requirements and regulations, financial subsidy programs, and special needs programs.
- Solicits and compiles data for reference files (such as information concerning establishing childcare centers, available education/information programs, and type of day care available);
- Assists in developing and presenting training programs and technical assistance materials to childcare providers.
- Assists in recruitment efforts through informational campaigns to assist qualified individuals in becoming childcare providers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following related fields (ECE, Child Development, Child Psychology/Behavioral Sciences, Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Elementary Education, Child Welfare, and Family Services).
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of early childhood development theories and philosophies.
- General knowledge of childcare resources and programs.
- Ability to interact with the public.
- Ability to compile statistical information.
