What You’ll Do:
The Driver provides safe and reliable transportation for individuals with disabilities, helping them reach their destinations and access the services they need.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of persons receiving services as required. May lift persons receiving services when working in a setting which provides direct services to persons who are non-ambulant, or who are semi-ambulant, and/or have severe physical disabilities.
- Complete required forms and documentation to include mileage and maintenance logs, vehicle checks, etc.
- Make minor adjustments and repairs to vehicle assigned; change and repair tire tubes, check and replenish gasoline, oil and radiator and battery water, and keep the vehicle in clean and safe running condition and available for immediate use.
- Make periodic safety checks of the vehicle, to check the function of the brakes, condition of tires, exhaust system, drive train, suspension, lights, wipers, horn, exit doors, and other equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of experience as a licensed operator of motor vehicle and thorough knowledge of the proper methods of operating the assigned vehicle.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Skills: Effective verbal and written communication utilizing the English language.
