What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Grounds Technician position at East Mississippi State Hospital?
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma)
AND
Three to four years of experience in at least one of the following fields: plumbing, carpentry, painting, electronics, electrical work, plastering, air-conditioning/refrigeration, heating equipment, or general maintenance and repair.
- Performs skilled tasked in one or more of the following maintenance repair fields: plumbing, carpentry, painting, electronics, electrical work, plastering, air-conditioning/refrigeration, heating equipment, or general maintenance and repair.
- Receives work orders, itemizes work to be done and completes assigned tasks.
- Prepares cost estimates as needed and recommends the purchase of supplies.
- Makes repairs to buildings and other equipment.
- Performs grounds maintenance such as mowing, edging, and trimming lawns, bushes, and planting trees.
- Collects and removes trash from grounds.
