We are a private credit firm specializing in secured, asset-backed lending, including real estate–backed financing. We’re seeking a Real Estate Closing Agent with strong underwriting instincts to support transactions from application review through closing, funding, and post-close. This role blends risk assessment, documentation, title/lien review, and closing coordination to ensure files are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate loan applicants’ creditworthiness and assess risk for real estate–backed loans
- Review financial documents (tax returns, bank statements, financial statements) to determine eligibility, terms, and conditions
- Coordinate real estate closings from clear-to-close through funding and post-close file completion
- Communicate underwriting requirements, closing conditions, and decisions to clients and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with title companies, attorneys, notaries, and third parties to meet closing timelines
- Review title commitments/policies, lien searches, payoff statements, surveys (as applicable), and resolve exceptions/curative items
- Confirm lien position, validate legal/vesting/entity details, and ensure enforceable documentation
- Prepare and maintain accurate closing packages, underwriting files, reports, and audit-ready records
- Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance requirements, and documentation standards
- Reconcile accounts and prepare statements related to loan funding and closing transactions
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness across files and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
- Proven underwriting experience (commercial lending/private credit a plus; real estate experience strongly preferred)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of financial regulations and industry trends
- Detail-oriented with proficiency in underwriting tools and Excel
- Must be able to reconcile accounts
- Must be able to prepare statements
- Must understand amortization and interest accrual for loans
