Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Teaching position at Earth School Hawaii, located in Hanalei, HI. The Teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that integrate academic rigor with nature-based and place-based learning. Responsibilities include creating a supportive classroom environment, fostering students' critical thinking and creativity, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, and maintaining open communication with students, families, and community partners. The Teacher is expected to actively promote the school’s values of environmental stewardship, cultural responsiveness, and community partnership.
Qualifications
- Experience and proficiency in Lesson Planning and Teaching
- Strong background in Education and Training practices
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and team members
- Dedication to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship in students
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field (teaching certification preferred)
- Prior experience teaching at K–8 levels, with a focus on holistic or experiential education preferred
- Familiarity with Hawaiian culture, values, and environmental practices is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and engage in ongoing professional growth
- **Must live locally on Kauai and have been on island for at least a year.
