What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Counselor position at Early Start Therapy?
We are on a mission to transform pediatric therapy through a clinical approach that is holistic, family-centered, culturally relevant, and fun. We are looking for people who are passionate about working as part of a team to not only help children thrive within their day-to-day activities but also to empower their families in caring for their needs.
The Mental Health Counselor (LPC, or LMHC) is responsible for collaborating with the rest of our interdisciplinary team to develop holistic treatment plans to support children with a range of developmental needs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in research and evidence-based practice, as well as at least two years of experience working with children and their families. Familiarity with early intervention services delivery models is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and use data collected during intakes and other interactions with families to develop customized plans for delivering therapeutic services.
- Provide diagnostic and treatment services for children and families as appropriate.
- Maintain communication with client referral sources to facilitate continuity of care as needed
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
Qualifications
- At least two years experience as a mental health counselor
- Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Virginia Board of Counseling
- Strong background working with young children and their families
