Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager/Lead Carpenter to oversee small to medium residential and commercial construction projects from start to finish. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise carpentry crews on residential construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute framing, trim carpentry, cabinetry, siding, roofing, and other specialized tasks.
- Manage construction processes by assessing materials, labor needs, and timelines for each project phase.
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and heavy lifting equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to schedule work phases and resolve onsite issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with power tool safety standards and proper handling of construction materials such as wood construction materials, rebar for concrete forming, stucco, siding materials, and more.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, change orders, safety incidents, and quality inspections to support project continuity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in blueprint reading, framing (metal stud or wood), drywall installation (plastering), and restoration work including water damage remediation.
- Strong background in residential and/or commercial carpentry with expertise in trim carpentry, cabinet installation, door hanging, flooring installation (tile or hardwood), tile laying, and fixture installation.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and schematics related to construction plans across various trades such as electrical experience, plumbing, masonry, roofing, and metal stud framing.
- Familiarity with woodworking tools—including CNC machinery—and woodworking machines used for fabrication or custom projects.
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures including power tool safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship within the restoration industry or general contracting environment.
