Role Description The Inside Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site position based in Brooklyn, New York. This role is responsible for managing inbound sales inquiries, conducting proactive outbound follow-up, converting qualified leads, and supporting customers throughout the purchasing process.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, results-driven sales professional with extensive experience selling major kitchen appliances. This individual must be comfortable managing a high volume of calls, emails, quotes, orders, and follow-up activities while consistently working toward individual and company sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound sales calls, emails, website inquiries, and customer requests.
- Conduct consistent outbound follow-up with prospective customers, existing accounts, dealers, designers, builders, and trade partners.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate appliance models, packages, features, and alternatives.
- Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, invoices, and sales orders.
- Convert qualified leads into completed sales and maintain consistent follow-up until each opportunity is closed or properly resolved.
- Develop strong knowledge of appliance brands, product specifications, availability, pricing, promotions, warranties, and installation requirements.
- Upsell and cross-sell complementary appliances, accessories, warranties, and services.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, notes, opportunities, and follow-up tasks within the company’s CRM and ERP systems.
- Monitor open quotes, pending orders, backorders, payment status, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, Accounting, and Warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with retail customers, dealers, designers, contractors, builders, and other trade professionals.
- Meet established sales, conversion, outbound activity, response-time, and revenue targets.
- Provide leadership with regular pipeline, sales activity, conversion, and performance reports.
- Assist with dealer outreach, account reactivation, promotional campaigns, and new business development initiatives.
- Resolve sales-related concerns professionally and escalate operational or customer-service issues when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Three or more years of successful inside sales experience, preferably within the appliance, kitchen and bath, home improvement, building materials, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of major kitchen appliances, product specifications, and the appliance sales process.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales quotas and convert inbound and outbound opportunities into revenue.
- Proven experience managing the complete sales cycle, from initial inquiry and product recommendation through quoting, payment, order processing, and post-sale follow-up.
- Strong telephone, email, negotiation, closing, and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable conducting high-volume outbound outreach and following up consistently with prospective and existing customers.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customers, quotes, orders, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience using CRM, ERP, order-management, or inventory systems; Odoo experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and other standard business tools.
- High level of accuracy when preparing quotes, entering orders, confirming product details, and documenting customer activity.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Brooklyn, New York.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with appliance dealers, designers, contractors, builders, or other trade professionals.
- Experience selling premium or luxury appliance brands.
- Familiarity with dealer pricing, trade programs, purchase orders, inventory availability, delivery coordination, and appliance warranties.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
