Interim Fund Controller

We are seeking an experienced Fund Controller to support fund-level accounting, reporting, and operations for a large private equity platform. This role will focus on the accounting and reporting requirements of private equity funds and will require strong experience with fund accounting, investor reporting, capital activity, valuations, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal resource will have direct experience working at the sponsor, fund administrator, or asset management level and should be comfortable operating in a high-volume, high-expectation private equity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own or support fund-level accounting and reporting for private equity investment funds.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual fund financial statements.
• Support investor/LP reporting, including quarterly packages and ad hoc investor requests.
• Manage or review capital calls, distributions, management fees, and fund expenses.
• Support NAV calculations and quarterly valuation processes.
• Coordinate with fund administrators, external auditors, tax advisors, valuation teams, and internal finance leadership.
• Support annual fund audits and tax reporting, including K-1 coordination.
• Review investment activity, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, and related fund-level accounting entries.
• Ensure reporting is consistent with fund agreements, LPAs, internal policies, and investor requirements.
• Identify process improvements and support scalable fund operations as the platform grows.

Required Experience

• Strong private equity fund accounting experience.
• Prior experience supporting multi-billion-dollar private equity funds preferred.
• Experience with LP reporting, capital calls, distributions, NAV, management fees, and fund expenses.
• Public accounting, asset management audit, fund administration, or sponsor-side private equity experience preferred.
• CPA preferred but not required.
