We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong skills in milling and vertical turning lathe (VTL) operations, specifically using Okuma 4-5 axis CNC machines. This role is critical in producing high-precision turbine components for aerospace applications and requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Okuma 4-5 axis CNC milling machines to manufacture aerospace components to tight tolerances
- Set up machines for production runs, including tooling, alignment, and calibration
- Perform routine diagnostics and basic maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize part flow and machining efficiency
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards in compliance with aerospace industry regulations
- Monitor output and adjust machining parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Accurately document production data and machine operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in the aerospace sector
- Skilled in setup and operation of Okuma 4-5 axis milling or VTL machines with Fanuc controls
- Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints and technical schematics
- Strong attention to detail with solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam, for CNC programming
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and aerospace production cycles
- History of improving part throughput and machining efficiency in a production environment
