We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to serve in a correctional facility environment. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews, to determine individual healthcare needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and immunizations, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions by developing individualized care plans, including pain management, wound suturing, and disease monitoring.
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and other healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive care delivery.
- Maintain meticulous medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic for documentation.
- Provide triage services by evaluating inmate complaints, prioritizing urgent cases, and facilitating timely referrals or emergency interventions.
- Support infection control measures through proper specimen collection, laboratory procedures, and adherence to sterilization protocols.
- Educate inmates on health maintenance, medication adherence, and disease prevention strategies tailored to diverse populations.
- Assist with discharge planning and follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment within the correctional setting.
- Respond effectively during emergencies such as trauma incidents or cardiac events by applying critical care procedures.
MUST HAVE: BLS (AHA), and OH State License
Qualifications: 1 year of Experience – REQUIRED
Shift Timings: 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
