Job Summary
The Laborer provides essential physical and navigational support to the Driver, ensuring cargo is handled safely and the truck remains organized and operational at all times. This role is critical to maintaining efficiency, safety, and professionalism during all transport activities.
Working Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Loading and Unloading
Assist the Driver with the physical loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are placed in accordance with the established load plan.
Cargo Protection
Use protective blankets and secure all items with ratchet straps to prevent damage during transit.
Equipment Handling
Ensure the proper use, handling, and storage of truck equipment, including bins, dollies, and packing materials.
Spotting and Navigation
Act as a spotter for the Driver during parking and tight maneuvers. Coordinate with site security or clients to identify approved parking and loading areas.
Client Relations and Documentation
Manage all service-related paperwork. Obtain authorized client signatures for each pickup and delivery, and maintain accurate inventory records of all handled items.
Maintenance and Organization
Assist with daily cleaning of the truck interior and maintain an organized arrangement of tools and equipment to ensure readiness for the next workday.
