Associate – Credit Compliance (New York)
A leading global alternative asset manager with a strong presence in private credit is looking to add an Associate to its Credit Compliance team in New York. This is a high-visibility role supporting a diverse range of private credit strategies, offering direct interaction with senior stakeholders across investment, legal, finance, and technology teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee trading activity reviews, including allocations, pricing, and valuation considerations
- Build a strong understanding of fund structures and investment suitability across credit strategies
- Monitor investment guidelines and restrictions, both pre- and post-trade
- Review electronic communications and investigate trade surveillance alerts
- Validate underlying data to ensure accuracy and integrity across reporting and systems
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve existing compliance processes
- Act as a trusted partner to the business, providing thoughtful challenge and guidance in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate closely with investment professionals, traders, and cross-functional teams
What they’re looking for:
- 2 years of compliance experience within asset management or financial services
- Familiarity with private funds and key regulatory frameworks (e.g., Advisers Act, SEC/FINRA rules)
- Exposure to credit products such as direct lending, leveraged loans, structured credit, or distressed debt is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively under tight deadlines
- Clear communicator with confidence engaging across seniority levels
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with compliance or trading systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Charles River, Smarsh) is advantageous
- Comfort leveraging data and technology, including emerging AI tools, to enhance efficiency and oversight
