What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Lead position at Dynamic Metals LLC?
Perform daily operations of the Shipping & Receiving Department. Maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Review shipping report daily and ensure shipments are made on-time, packaged properly, and include accurate paperwork
- Pull, mark, and inspect product prior to packaging for any defects, and package/crate parts for outgoing shipments (per customer pack specs when applicable)
- Prepare shipping documents to include packing lists, bill of ladings, customs, and carrier paperwork
- Ensure all shipping paperwork includes both a packing list and a CoC
- Scan shipping paperwork and file in the designated location
- Maintain records of outgoing shipments and update the shipping log in real time
- Maintain records of one-off shipment packed items and update the packer log in real time
- Schedule pick-ups with trucking companies via phone or customer portals
- Regularly monitor and place orders for shipping and receiving supplies
- Create and issue Outside Service Purchase Orders per specs/routers
- Update Outside Service Purchase Order Log in real time
- Maintain and monitor Outside Service Routers and follow-up with suppliers on expected receipt date back to the facility
- Receive raw material, outside service and MRO purchase orders in MRP system
- Identify, tag/label raw material, test raw material, and complete material log in real time
- Sign-off on routers for all shipping/receiving processes when applicable
- Count and put away finished goods from completed work orders/routers
- Maintain proper documentation of Not for Shipment tags on all inventoried finished goods; maintain inventory log with correct locations of WIP and finished goods
- Perform the unpacking of deliveries and distribute contents to the correct location
- Conduct cycle counts of inventory and assist in physical inventory count
- Lead the department by ensuring all team members remain on task, assist team members as needed, demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems, and lead to continual process improvements and effectiveness of the team
- Proactively, work with the Production Control Manager and other departments to resolve challenges as they arise
- Maintain equipment, work area, dock, and shipping office in a clean and orderly manner
- Take out trash and scrap/recycle bins to the dumpster and arrange for trash and scrap pickups from disposal companies
- Lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload required objects
- Demonstrate safe work habits
- Maintain current, overall, and job specific trainings and requirements
- Ensure confidentiality of all records
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Detail Oriented and highly organized
- Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated
- UPS/FedEx Portal experience
- Competency of the supply chain
- AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment
- Forklift License (company provided)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum four (4) years of shipping/receiving experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
1st Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
