Job Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructor to support frontline team members through instructional delivery and test preparation at a Tyson facility. This role focuses on empowering adult learners by providing high-quality instruction, academic support, and engagement through the Upward Academy program.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach High School Equivalency (HSE) curriculum and test preparation to frontline team members.
- Create, develop, and update instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
- Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and training sessions to stay current on best practices and program updates.
- Participate in recruitment events and program culminating activities to support learner engagement and community outreach.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for adult learners.
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional methods in:
- Reading
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Native-like fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for lesson planning, documentation, and communication.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Teaching, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in High School Equivalency or adult education.
- Strong classroom management, organization, and lesson planning skills.
- Ability to provide clear, concise instructions and explanations.
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse learner populations.
- Strong technology skills with experience integrating technology into instruction.
