Service Technician - Home Improvement

Overview

Durante Home Exteriors is looking for an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Service Technician to join our team.

This is a hands-on field position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and solving problems. Our Service Technician works directly with existing Durante customers to diagnose and resolve service and warranty issues involving a variety of home improvement products.

If you have residential construction, remodeling, installation, maintenance, or repair experience and take pride in doing the job right, we want to talk with you.

What You'll Do

As a Service Technician, you will:

• Travel to customers' homes to diagnose and resolve service issues.
• Troubleshoot product, installation, and workmanship-related problems and determine the appropriate repair.
• Perform approved warranty repairs and identify replacement parts and materials needed to complete the work.
• Work on a variety of products, including windows, doors, siding, roofing, decks, railing, patio covers, screen rooms, sunrooms, and bath products.
• Respond quickly to priority issues such as active leaks and door/window security or locking problems.
• Make every reasonable effort to diagnose and complete repairs on the first trip by arriving prepared with the proper tools, parts, and materials.
• Communicate professionally with customers and explain repairs and findings in easy-to-understand terms.
• Take photographs, measurements, model/serial numbers, and other information necessary for warranty claims.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, including diagnosis, work completed, materials required, photographs, and next steps.
• Maintain an organized and properly stocked company service vehicle and company-issued tools.
• Protect the customer's home and property, maintain a safe work area, and leave the jobsite clean.
• Work with our Customer Care, Production, Operations, manufacturers, suppliers, and installation teams to resolve customer concerns.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Residential construction, remodeling, installation, maintenance, handyman, or service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment.
• Ability to perform a variety of minor-to-moderate residential repairs.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude when working in customers' homes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
• Good organizational and documentation skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple home improvement product lines.
• Commitment to jobsite safety and proper use of PPE and fall protection.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

What Success Looks Like

We aren't looking for someone who simply "runs service calls." We want someone who owns the problem and works toward resolution.

Success in this position is measured by service response and completion time, first-trip completion rate, service-ticket turn time, repair quality, repeat callbacks, documentation accuracy, customer satisfaction, vehicle/tool organization, dependability, and safety compliance.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
