About the Role
Reporting to the site Quality Engineering Lead, the Quality Assurance Specialist serves as the primary quality interface for assigned programs. You’ll support test, repair, and remanufacture activities by ensuring compliance with requirements, driving root cause and corrective action efforts, and maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the customer-facing quality representative with timely, accurate communication.
• Review and interpret program requirements, specifications, and quality notes.
• Create and maintain quality plans, inspection plans, and documentation packages.
• Coordinate receiving, in-process, and final inspections to verify product conformance.
• Identify, document, and manage nonconforming material and dispositions.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Prepare customer notifications, deviations, waivers, and quality reports.
• Ensure supplier flow-down of quality requirements; review supplier documentation for compliance.
• Monitor production, rework, and repair processes for adherence to quality standards.
• Support supplier audits and coordinate customer source inspections.
• Track, analyze, and report program quality metrics.
• Validate traceability, serialization, and configuration records.
• Review final documentation packages prior to customer acceptance.
• Identify and present opportunities for continuous improvement.
FAI Responsibilities
• Verify supplier First Article Inspection (FAI) packages meet AS9102 and customer criteria.
• Support FAI documentation reviews related to engineering changes or quality notes.
• Coordinate internal FAI inspections for new configurations or processes.
• Confirm completeness and accuracy of all FAI forms, evidence, measurements, and characteristic validations.
Requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience executing Quality Assurance responsibilities in the Defense Technology Industry with demonstrated success.
