Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process medical billing and collections using health insurance knowledge and medical coding.
- Manage patient records with meticulous attention to confidentiality policies in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information or directing calls appropriately.
- Assist with documentation review, data entry, and maintaining accurate medical records within systems.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans and ensuring smooth clinic operations through clerical support and office management skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical administrative support or as a medical receptionist in a clinical setting.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and EMR/EHR management systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of health insurance procedures, medical billing, coding, and Medicare processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Familiarity with clinic workflows, medical terminology, and electronic health records management is preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
