Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued during their visit
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing inquiries with knowledge of health insurance systems
- Manage patient records accurately by updating electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear information and directing calls appropriately
- Perform insurance verification, review documentation for accuracy, and assist with billing processes
- Maintain a tidy front desk area, manage filing systems for medical records, and support administrative tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office and other office management tools
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred; clinic experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and medical billing practices
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, or similar
- Familiarity with medical coding
- Excellent computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office applications, and multi-line phone systems
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies
- Strong organizational skills to manage appointments, documentation review, filing, and office management tasks
