What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruiter position at DU Family of Companies?
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a Recruiter who knows how to find and attract hard-to-reach talent in the skilled trades and technical services industries.
This role will focus on recruiting field and operational talent across the organization, including fire alarm technicians, sprinkler fitters, inspectors, service technicians, project managers, and other critical roles. The ideal candidate has experience recruiting in industries such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical contracting, facilities services, construction, fire protection, or other skilled trades environments.
Bottom line: We're looking for a recruiter who understands where skilled trades talent comes from, how to engage it, and how to help us build a strong pipeline of field and technical professionals as we continue to grow.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruiting from intake through offer.
- Source and engage skilled trades and technical talent through direct outreach, referrals, networking, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and industry organizations.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop recruiting strategies.
- Build pipelines for high-demand and difficult-to-fill positions.
- Deliver a positive candidate experience while moving searches efficiently.
- Maintain recruiting activity and candidate data within the ATS.
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of recruiting experience, preferably in skilled trades, construction, field services, mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, or related industries.
- Proven success sourcing passive candidates and filling hard-to-find roles.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple openings in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, and modern sourcing tools.
Preferred
- Agency recruiting experience.
- Experience recruiting technicians, installers, mechanics, tradespeople, project managers, or service professionals.
- Familiarity with union, non-union, apprenticeship, and trade school recruiting.
