An environmental services organization is seeking a Sales & Service Manager- HVAC, to drive growth and execution across its refrigerant recovery programs. This hands‑on leadership role blends field service, customer development, and management, and is ideal for a results‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment. You will lead local recovery operations, develop new customer relationships, and ensure safe, efficient, and profitable program execution across the NYC metro area.
Responsibilities for the Sales & Service Manager- HVAC:
- Lead and support a team of two technicians, setting daily schedules, ensuring job readiness, and maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to ensure consistent technician development and accountability.
- Monitor and report on technician productivity, recovery volumes, and customer feedback, serving as the primary field liaison to corporate operations.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new customers for refrigerant recovery and exchange programs.
- Conduct in‑person sales visits and follow‑up calls to present full‑service recovery solutions and convert inactive or limited‑service customers into full‑service partners.
- Track all sales activity, customer interactions, and recovery opportunities within CRM systems.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with customer service, sales, and finance to coordinate scheduling, billing, and customer follow‑up.
- Perform on‑site refrigerant recovery using small‑format recovery trucks and equipment, and assist with cylinder exchanges as needed.
- Ensure all recovery and exchange work complies with internal SOPs, EPA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety protocols.
- Complete and submit work orders, bills of lading, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Represent the organization professionally in the field, building trust through service excellence and customer responsiveness.
Requirements for the Sales & Service Manager- HVAC:
- 5 years of experience in HVAC, refrigerant recovery, environmental services, or a related field.
- Proven success in outside sales, business development, or customer‑facing field roles.
- 3-5 years of experience managing or leading field, technical, or service staff.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 40/SST certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HazMat endorsement preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including operating recovery machinery and handling cylinders.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using digital work orders, CRM tools, and mobile technology.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- DOT medical card required or ability to obtain shortly after hire; position subject to DOT testing.
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
