What are the responsibilities and job description for the PLC Technician position at DSJ Global?
We are seeking a hands-on PLC Technician to support automation and maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, VFDs, and related automation systems
- Write and modify basic PLC programs (primarily Ladder Logic)
- Analyze existing control logic and implement improvements
- Perform equipment installations, upgrades, and repairs
- Execute preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Diagnose electrical systems including 3-phase power (up to 480V), variable voltage, and 4-20mA circuits
- Identify recurring issues and recommend effective solutions
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with established procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals
Requirements
- Vocational or Technical degree (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs
- Strong understanding of Ladder Logic
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and repair manuals
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Experience with Rockwell Automation PLCs
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
