Position Overview
DSJ Global is working with a Pulp and Forest Product Manufacturing company to identify a Maintenance Planner in the general Hattiesburg Mississippi Area this role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring maintenance work is planned and executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production goals.
The Maintenance Planner will partner closely with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams to build effective maintenance plans, manage spare parts, and enhance overall reliability programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance activities in collaboration with operations and management
- Develop detailed maintenance work plans, including labor, materials, tools, and safety requirements
- Source parts and maintain required inventory levels to support planned work
- Utilize CMMS systems to manage work orders, including updates, status tracking, and documentation
- Support prioritization of maintenance activities with leadership to align with production needs
- Coordinate labor scheduling to ensure proper coverage during absences (PTO, call-ins, etc.)
- Ensure all maintenance work is executed safely and in accordance with company policies
- Optimize maintenance costs by leveraging internal resources whenever possible
- Plan and manage contractor work to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Maintain equipment documentation, including technical drawings and manuals
- Partner with procurement to manage spare parts inventory and availability
- Analyze maintenance data to identify recurring equipment issues and drive reliability improvements
- Support development of strategies to reduce repetitive maintenance costs and improve asset performance
- Manage the parts requisition process for maintenance activities
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred
- 3-5 years of maintenance planning or maintenance operations experience
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience using CMMS platforms (e.g., work order systems, maintenance tracking software)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
