Service Coordinator

Job Summary
The Service Coordinator supports day-to-day service operations for a construction company by scheduling service work, coordinating technicians and subcontractors, communicating with clients, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within scope. This role serves as a key link between the field, office, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate service calls, maintenance work, and small construction projects
- Dispatch field technicians and subcontractors based on availability, skill set, and job priority
- Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, job status, delays, and completion
- Prepare work orders, service tickets, and job documentation
- Track job progress and ensure timely completion of service requests
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and permits as needed
- Maintain accurate records in service management or project tracking systems
- Assist with invoicing by verifying completed work, labor hours, and materials used
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve service-related issues professionally
- Support service managers with reporting, job tracking, and workflow improvements
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and construction regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
- 2 years of experience in service coordination, construction administration, or a related role
- Knowledge of construction processes, service workflows, and terminology
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in construction trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general construction)
- Familiarity with work order systems or project management software
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with field crews and management
Physical & Work Requirements
- Office-based role with occasional site visits
- Ability to sit, stand, and use office equipment for extended periods
- May require flexible hours to support service operations
