Job Title: Electronics Systems Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Systems Engineer to support repair, testing, and production of electronic systems and components used in mining and downhole environments. This hands-on role combines electronics engineering, quality management, incoming inspection, and vendor coordination in a small-team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance: Ensure products conform to standards relating to use in explosive atmospheres.
- Repair & Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies; solder with microscope; review schematics and PCB layouts.
- Product Development: Improve existing products, debug hardware designs, replace obsolete components, and update PCB design files.
- Quality Management & Control: Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and quality documentation; track and resolve non-conformances; manage database of issues and corrective actions; perform incoming inspection on PCBs, electronic components, and mining/downhole parts; work with vendors to ensure quality; manage annual compliance audits.
- Testing & Validation: Test and validate performance; ensure equipment reliability for field use.
- Firmware Programming: Program ICs using existing binaries; understand firmware-to-hardware interactions; support hardware configuration.
- Vendor Coordination: Provide design files, BOMs, and kits; coordinate procurement and inspection; resolve quality issues with vendors.
- Management: Develop reports including, repair, inventory (component and laboratory), orders, project, progress, needs, and track.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Electronics troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle, KiCad, etc.)
- Precision soldering (fine-pitch, microscope work)
- Embedded systems understanding and basic firmware programming
- Experience with incoming component and product inspection and quality control
- Strong documentation and QMS (ISO 90001) familiarity
- Ability to work with a regulated product line for use in explosive atmospheres and harsh-environments

- Strong communication; able to take and give direction
- Ownership and follow-through, including documentation and organization
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize competing tasks
- Adaptable in small-team environments; willing to learn and step into multiple roles
