DPP is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry, one of the largest employers of IT professionals in the state.
Work location: Partial onsite (Tues., Wed., Thurs. and as needed); WFH Mon. & Fri.
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 contract
Candidate location: Local preferred
Position summary:
- This is a senior-level mainframe engineer role focused on COBOL/DB2 development, performance optimization, and backlog execution within a large healthcare environment.
- This role requires a self-driven technologist who can research legacy systems, streamline DB2 queries, and take ownership of technical work without direct supervision.
Required skills:
- Mainframe background
- Experience with at least one of the following: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS
Preferred:
- Technical leadership experience
- Task management experience
- Ability to take initiative
Minimum required work experience:
- 6 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience
Required education/equivalencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
- OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
- OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
Salary : $55 - $57
