The Compliance Specialist ensures a culture of health and safety, supporting both field and corporate personnel by providing safety data analysis, training design, administration, and delivery. Maintains safety policies, procedures, and protocols, monitors and analyzies applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, administers, and delivers safety training to all employees.Conducts training needs analysis, industry safety standards reviews, and facilitates safety training programs based on identified needs.
- Collaborates with the safety team to provide technical support and ensure safety compliance.
- Monitors new legal developments and safety regulations and ensures that the company is in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) guidelines.
- Runs risk assessments on workspaces and presents reports to safety managers.
- Drafts and updates safety policies, protocols, and guidelines for preventative measures.
- Assists with procurement and maintenance of safety equipment.
- Conducts new hire orientations for field employees and assists with onboarding preparation introdusing safety standards and requirements.
- Maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory and distributes gear to new employees.
- Assists the Compliance Manager with other departmental tasks and projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree.
- Two (2) years of experience in coordinating safety programs.
- Certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, and OSHA 510.
- Background in the commercial electrical field.
- Experience supporting safety programs or assisting with training coordination.
- OSHA 30 (Construction).
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry standards.
- Knowledge of construction or electrical job site environments is preferred.
- Skill in delivering training and engaging with employees across different roles.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite and safety-related documentation systems.
- Ability to manage records, maintain PPE inventory, and support program logistics.
- Ability to communicate safety policies clearly and support safety culture initiatives.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet company and project demands.
- Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
