Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based at Downright’s manufacturing plant in Brooklyn, NY. The sewing professional will work on the production of comforters, pillows, and featherbeds, operating sewing machines and other equipment to assemble and finish textile products according to established quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting fabric, sewing seams and closures, inspecting work for accuracy and durability, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. The role also involves following safety procedures, collaborating with supervisors and team members to meet production goals, and communicating clearly in English to understand instructions and provide updates. Occasional assistance with labeling, packaging, or other related tasks may be required to support overall production flow.

Qualifications
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to understand instructions and provide clear updates.
- English teaching or training experience, or the ability to assist colleagues in improving English skills when needed.
- Customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with team members and, when required, visitors or clients.
- Translation skills in English and another language are beneficial for supporting multilingual team members.
- Proven experience in sewing, tailoring, or textile manufacturing, including the safe use of industrial sewing machines.
- Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and meet production deadlines.
