Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, department administrators, and the school principal, the SLP administers formal and informal assessment and direct and consultative language and speech services for early childhood, elementary, intermediate, high school, and adult transition-aged students with speech and language disorders and/or needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a valid Language and Speech Specialist Credential issued by the State of California authorizing service in this position. Bilingual (Spanish and American Sign Language {ASL}) highly desirable. • Master’s degree in speech pathology or a closely related field. • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in educational or clinical speech therapy and language disorders. • Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic community; bilingual ability (English/Spanish) and American Sign Language (ASL) strongly desired and to conduct oneself in a manner to which reflects a positive emphasis related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Experience and knowledge of alternative communication devices and a Certificate of Clinic Competency (CCC) strongly desired. • Valid California Driver’s License
