Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and plumbing fixtures.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan.
- Utilize specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs when necessary.
- Install new HVAC systems or upgrade existing setups in accordance with safety standards and client specifications.
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues involving ammonia refrigeration or other specialty systems; ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Maintain detailed service records, report on repair progress, and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommended solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, or property maintenance.
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair including boilers, air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, and appliances.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by field service experience in diverse environments such as commercial or industrial facilities.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform welding tasks safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
drivers preferred. - Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
