Construction Staff Accountant
The Construction Staff Accountant is responsible for:
- Accounts Payable:
- Post and correct coding for all credit card expenses submitted through Field App
- Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring they are coded, approved and paid on time
- Manage weekly payments to vendors and subcontractors
- Maintain vendor and subcontractor records, including W-9s and certificates of insurance
- Set up and manage tax free vendor accounts for churches/non-profits
- Perform monthly credit card and account reconciliations
- Reconcile vendor statements with internal records and address outstanding balances or credits
- Payroll:
- Review time entry submitted through Field App for accuracy
- Submit reports to project managers for approval/changes
- Process payroll and export direct deposit information to bank
- Submit weekly tax reporting & payment through EFTPS
- Accounts Receivable:
- Prepare invoices for all service work
- Assist in preparing monthly pay applications to Owners for construction & design projects
- Deposit payments
- Job Costs:
- Enter Owner Change Orders in accounting system
- Enter Subcontractor Contracts and Change Orders in accounting system
- Set Up and Maintain Job files
- Financial Reporting & Miscellaneous Administration:
- Maintain spreadsheet for city and county business taxes for multiple municipalities
- Related Real Estate entity accounting (accounts payable and accounts receivable)
- Assist the CFO with general accounting and administrative duties as needed to support month and year end close and insurance audits
- Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems
- General Office Administration (filing, order office supplies, answer phones, etc.)
Salary Range
$60,000 to $68,000

Skills and Experience
We are seeking candidates who have:
- Associates Degree in Accounting and two years of accounting experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Excellent customer service skills required when working with team members, subcontractors and clients
- Detail oriented
- Maintain confidentiality of company information
- This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, managing job costing and supporting project account functions.
- Experience with Construction accounting software ComputerEase or experience with job cost accounting is preferred but not required
