About this Job:
The overall function of this position is to assist Professional Engineers and/or higher level Construction Inspectors in the performance of construction inspection work and general contract administration duties required of a District Project Engineer’s Construction Office. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform all construction contract administration and related duties with minimal supervision and be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Carefully reviews plans, specifications and special provision to ensure compliance by contractors.
- Compiles field data, work reports, and other information as needed to prepare estimates and periodic reports. Makes detailed calculation to determine areas and volume for roadway and structural items.
- Interprets plans, specifications, and special provisions to ensure compliance by the contractor.
- Keeps field notes, record work performed in site manager, computes and checks earthwork quantities, cross section, excel spreadsheets, bench marks and other related data to determine that specifications have been met.
- Performs detailed construction inspection of road and bridge projects and ensures that construction meets the guidelines detailed in the plans, specifications, and special provisions. Accurately reports data and figures for partial and final pay estimates.

Compensation:
Construction Inspector 1 - $14.98/hourly
Construction Inspector 2 - $17.15/hourly
Construction Inspector 3 - $19.63/hourly
Construction Inspector 4 - $22.47/hourly
Additional $2.00/Hourly Premium Pay for Every Hour Worked
