Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Observe and document patient behavior and progress to ensure effective care.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor vital signs regularly.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Provide first aid as needed and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in direct support or caregiving is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to administer medications and monitor vital signs effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately while being adaptable to changing client needs.
- Certification in First Aid or CPR is desirable.
- Must be 18 years of age and able to pass a background check.
- Must have valid drivers license.
